Media Institutions
A positive narrative solution was used by the institution in order to allow the  road safety advert stay positive, this is because to begin with, the use of physical theatre allowed the audience to understand that the man is beginning to drive, and according to Todorov's theory this was the 'equilibrium', as there was happiness to begin with. however the audience then witness the disequilibrium as the man is under danger due to not wearing a seat belt, whilst driving, however he is saved by his family, and this rescue therefore leads to a happy 'ending', forming a new equilibrium. in addition the institution follow some narrative patterns, which are portrayed in order to make the advert positive, as the seatbelt has been seen as the donor, that helps the hero, who are the mother and daughter rescue the man, who needs help, making the man the princess and needs the seatbelt, this links with Prop's seven spheres of action.

Media Forms
*don't use really bright ! - High key lighting

The facial expressions of the characters were very similar throughout the advert. When the accident had occurred, and the man of the family needed help, all three of the characters had still stuck to similar facial expressions of being shocked and looking worried. These negative facial expressions were then followed by more relieving and happier ones when the family were able to save the driver. the stereotypes of family being loyal and caring towards each other is enforced, allowing the facial expressions to link in with Medhurt's theory, as this theorist stated that  'stereotypes' are a shorthand for communication, and the audience are expected to instantly understand that the driver being unsafe and unhappy, will also mean his family is going to be unsafe and happy, in addition the male is stereotyped to     . This also challenges the typical stereotypes of men being seen as 'strong', because he isn't shown very dominant, thus this challenges perkins theory of stereotypes being true & often negative as the man is shown 'weak'.
